THINKING THEATRE
PUTTING UNHEARD VOICES CENTRE STAGE
ABOUT US
Lakhon Komnit Organization (LKO) is a Battambang-based grassroots Lakhon Niyeay (Spoken Theatre) group and Cambodia’s leading practitioner of Theatre of the Oppressed.
Lakhon Komnit means “Thinking Theatre” in Khmer: LKO creates performances, projects and workshops which develop relational safety and critical understanding of personal and social reality, revealing choice and enabling change.
LKO works with marginalised and excluded community members to create powerful performances telling unheard stories. Specialised in Forum Theatre and Theatre of the Oppressed, we bring together diverse audience members and facilitate constructive dialogue across social hierarchies.
Functional as an informal arts group since 2017, LKO received registration as a local NGO from the Royal Cambodian Government Ministry of Interior on 7 October 2019.

EXPAND THEATRE FOR SOCIAL EQUITY
